Subject Outline:
Theory of Waste-Spark compared to HEI operation. Hall Effect switches. Module operation and
diagnosis. “Soft shutdown” and EST functions. Coil packs, crankshaft sensors, and camshaft
sensors. Cylinder balance test for diagnosis of open or shorted plug wires, and/or spark plug
operation. Diagnose vehicles with no spark.
